Hello friends.
Did I ever tell you that I have been wanting to make a British flag inspired piece of furniture for like…forever?
Actually I have spent the past year pinning pictures of dressers, tables, and cabinets.
This is a nice example of a dresser done in the actual British flag colors.
Here is one done in soft neutral colors.
This dresser is brightly painted with wood toned sides and top.
This would be so cute in a boy’s room.
And this adorable cabinet is done in luminous shades of gold.
Very chic don’t you think?
Here is a Union Jack done on the top of an oval coffee table.
I love all these makeovers. Even though I have been pinning all these inspiration photos, I have never had the gumption
to actually paint one. Until now.
And you know what? It wasn’t hard at all. It just involved a little measuring and taping.
(Thank you Frog Tape!)
So I decided to start easy and try my hand at painting a simple coffee table top.
Finally it is all finished!
The base coat is Miss Mustard Seeds Grain Sack Milk Paint with Waverly’s Elephant and Mineral chalk paint on the top.
Then I heavily distressed it with an orbital sander, and sealed it with MMS Hemp Oil.
This sweet little table is now available at the Prairie Chick Market. It really is a fun piece.
Uh oh! I think I feel a Union Jack dresser coming on!
What colors do you all think I should use?
See you on the prairie friends,
Shelly
